The National Centre for Inherited Metabolic Disorders provides assessment and treatment to adults with inherited metabolic disorders.
The adult metabolic service in the Mater Hospital provides multidisciplinary care for patients with known or suspected metabolic disorders. These disorders include phenylketonuria (PKU), galactosemia and lysosomal disease. We help patients to manage their conditions with optimal diets that match their metabolic needs.
Once referred to the Mater, your complete care is looked after by their team. This team includes our consultant physician, doctor, nurse, dietician , medical social worker and psychologist.
Referral Information
Adult patients with suspected metabolic disorders can be referred by a GP or a specialist consultant. Please send referrals to the address below. Please include a medical summary and records of past medical history for patients with known metabolic disorders.
